PERIOD 4 English Phase II students of Waipahu High School

gathered at GTE HawaiianTel after their annual Video Conference 

with Fukiai High School students in Kobe, Japan.  

Waipahu students, Teams 1&5, introduce themselves to their keypals 

from Fukiai High School at a 2-day Language Expo '99 held at the 

Convention Center in Kobe, Japan.

Teams 1 & 5 presented their topic:  Traditional Hawaiian Marriage

Teams 2 & 4 presented their topic: Teen Dating

The monitors show the live telecast from Kobe and Hawaii while Team 2 present their data about teen dating in Hawaii and Fukiai students listen attentively.

Waipahu students, Teams 3 & 6, also began with introductions and met their Fukiai keypal counterparts before their presentations began.

Team 3's topic was Same-Sex Marriage in Hawaii: Should it be legalized?

Helper Team 6's topic was Future Teen Relationships.

Waipahu's Team 1 present their information about Traditional Hawaiian Marriage which included offering of Maili lei by bride to groom and the traditional Hawaiian Wedding Song hula by the bride.
