Ben's History & Politics PagesBen's Random Musings BlogHawaii Politics * History * Random Thoughts * Useful Links * History and Politics BooksWell...this can be a dangerous topic. I'll be using these pages to provide a few of my own viewpoints and some useful links to educational resources. I don't expect everybody to agree with me, but I hope you can appreciate my point of view -- as always I welcome intelligent feedback. National PoliticsRandom Musings - a topical blog on issues, including Politics, by Ben. Random Thoughts...I'm not convinced that tax cuts on stock dividends is really the way to stimulate the economy. Arsenic and Old Dems...there is quite a hue and cry from Democrats and environmentalists about George W. Bush's decision to set aside the last-minute Arsenic regulations Bill Clinton signed that reduce the acceptable standard to 10ppb (Parts Per Billion) in drinking water. What seems to be overlooked in all the noise is that the regulation was merely delayed 60 days so that the science behind the decision can be reviewed. There will still be a new arsenic standard, the Bush administration simply wants to do the due diligence to make sure we get the standard right. There's also the minor issue of disagreement about how many people actually die from arsenic poisoning each year. While some estimates say it should be hundreds; closer counts indicate it may not even be dozens. To put that in perspective, there are dozens of deaths each year, in the United States, from bee stings. Useful Links
More to come...soon...
