504th PIR Association Vice-President

Ron Rath, Treasurer of the 504th PIR Association announced that our Vice President, Ed Mokan, died of a heart attack, on the evening of 29 Apr 2002. Ed was 81.

The funeral is going to be Saturday, 4 May 2002 - 8:00AM at the Old Worth Funeral Parlor in Philadelphia. Flowers are being sent on behalf of the 504PIR Assn and its members.

Charles "Swifty" Wilson

Charles "Swifty" Wilson, a member of the Original ParachuteTest Platoon died suddenly Wednesday morning of a massive heart attack as he was taking his morning walk.

Swifty lived at 1126 Lanford Dr SW, Lilburn, GA 30047-6625, letter of condolence may be sent there to his widow, June.

Visitation will he held Friday from 1 to 3 PM and 6 to 9 PM at the TOM WAGES FUNERAL HOME, 3705 Highway 78, Snellville, GA, phone # 770-979-3200.

An Airborne funeral will be conducted Saturday morning at the Wages Funeral Home at 11AM. Burial will be held in the College Park Cemetery on Virginia Ave in College Park.

"Swifty" was one of the first Paratroopers in the Army to jump from a plane in flight. It behooves EVERY Airborne person to manifest a sign of regret, via flowers, cards and attendance.

If you live within 200 miles, you have no excuse for not being there. If you want to see a real Airborne-Military Funeral, be in Snellville, GA Saturday morning at 11AM. The Airborne will take care of its own.
