| How do you approach a marathon? How do you get to its starting line and through its 26.2 miles without hitting the wall and get to the finish line with the greatest sense of accomplishment? |
| For over 25 years, Cardiologist Dr. Jack Scaff has been fine tuning the answers to these and other marathon questions and has refined and evolved this training program into a model for other marathon clinics from Australia to New York City. The Honolulu Marathon Clinic has helped literally tens of thousands of beginning runners to complete their first marathon, and is the most successful running program the City and County of Honolulu's Department of Parks and Recreation has ever had. The Clinic is a nine-month program put together by Dr. Scaff and his volunteers that enables beginning runners and first time marathoners to successfully complete their inaugural marathon. This is a program that stresses recreational, slow, conversational long distance running in an enjoyable, fun environment. |
