One of the traditions among the groups of the Honolulu Marathon Clinic is to have a post marathon dinner on the Monday night following the marathon. Here, Group Leader Pete and some of his students celebrate a successful marathon finish.
After a grueling training run, what could be better than a relaxing catamaran ride (complete with snorkeling, swimming and on board lunch). Here, the 1993 Clinic goes on a "Catamarun" outside of Waikiki Beach.
Here the gang relaxes and "talks story" after a taxing training run at the old Kapiolani Bandstand.
Before the post marathon picnics were started, many of the groups would head over to Denny's in Waikiki on the Sunday following the Honolulu Marathon to swap stories about the race. There were many tales to tell in 1995 since it was a very hot and humid raceday.
This 1997 finisher's dinner on the Monday following the Honolulu Marathon was held at the Meeting Place. Both Intermediate and Beginner groups were represented at the dinner and the proverbial "good time" was had by all.
Mike Dudock makes a friend of one of the reserved, conservative, typical Japanese runners during the marathon.
Again, the reserved, conservative, typical Japanese running club member who travels thousands of miles to support their runners. The following year, these gentlemen were painted head-to-toe with silver paint.
The 2000 post marathon dinner was especially bittersweet, since we bid farewell to Group Leader Pete Garcia (with lei). Pete has served as Dr. Scaff's right hand man and has provided the liason and coordination for the Honolulu Marathon Clinic functions for many years and we will truly miss his company in the coming years.

Come join us for a run in paradise.
