HELP!

Are you seeing this page through a frame? Click Here.

Many of you 68k Mac gamers have been e-mailing me questions like, "Do you know where I can find such and such?" or "I've played this game where (input description here) do you know where I can get it?" Well some of these questions you've asked, I've answered over and over again, so I decided to create this page. Think of the Help! page as a FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) page. I'll also post the latest sightings of Old Game Archives here, so you can search or browse at your own convenience. I hope this page helps alleviate some common queries, therefore reducing the amount of e-mails I have to review :-) - 3/24/99.

How do I find a 68k Mac game?

There are many ways to approach this question. The best way would be to start with the Mac 68k Games' search engine also available in the Games section or Main page. Enter the name of the game you're looking for in the text field and it'll give you a list of pages which has a part or whole of the compound word you've inserted. To make an effective search, please input only single words. For example, Escape Beyond 2001 would be just Escape, Beyond, or 2001. If you want the latest version of the game, you would click on the link in the list with the date closest to the current date.

If you know the game genre or month your game has been created, you can search for it via the Games section interface. This might be a faster way to look for your game depending on its popularity. Meaning, the more version updates it has, the more likely it will appear in the page you're about to see.

NOTE: These methods above are not recommend for those of you who are trying to find an old B&W game. You'll just be disappointed at the lack of titles for your 68k Mac. Please proceed to the next section below if you belong in this category.

You still didn't find the game you're looking for?

Try the following Old Game Archives:

This list will be updated as I find more Old Game Archives worth posting.

Want to find someone who is willing to part with his/her old game?

You could try the various online marketplaces. For example, there's Ebay, a Web Site for auctioning and Comp.sys.mac.games.marketplace, a news group where Mac users sell their old software. There are probably more Web Sites out there that offer the same services that Ebay does, but they target their audience towards us Mac gamers. Let me know if there are such Web Sites, so I can update this section. My e-mail address is: Mac68kGames@gomac.to.

I allow soliciting in my Mac 68k Games' BoardRoom, only if it has something to do with 68k Mac gaming. You can sell your old games at the M68kG BoardRoom if you want. This would help out a lot of 68k Mac gamers. Maybe later on in the future, I can create a 68k Mac games marketplace when there's the demand.

Here are the known Mac Online Marketplaces:

Like the Old Game Archives list above, it will be subject to change when new Mac Online Marketplaces arrive.

Last resort...

Please try the Mac 68k Games' BoardRoom before you e-mail me. I will look at the M68kG BoardRoom at least once a day to see if I can answer your question. This allows other 68k Mac gamers to view your message and respond to it if they know what you're talking about. To tell you the truth, I can't answer all your 68k Mac gaming questions because I don't know everything that goes on in the 68k Mac gaming industry. Some 68k Mac gamers out there know way more on certain topics then I do, so it's always a learning process being the WebMaster of Mac 68k Games. If you want private service, which I respect, please feel free to e-mail me at: Mac68kGames@gomac.to. I must warn you that I'm not very knowledgeable in old B&W games for the Mac Plus or its equivalence.
