To say it's been awhile is an understatement.
I do "write" my postings in my head as I drive to/fro the grocery store. Must be the only time i'm ever free to think randomly.
It's been so long I don't even know where to begin. A year goes by pretty quickly when you don't have much time for yourself.
Like an old friendship, I'll pick up right where I left off...
Max was born without too much of a hitch on July 13th. We ended up going into the hospital for an induction, but as fate would have it...i was already in labor. Other than a few hiccups the first week, it's been relatively smooth sailing ever since. Max is a character. He's big, strong and determined to do things his way. Other than being about 4" shorter than Sofie is currently, they're the same size..hands, feet, body, appetite. He is a bull in a china shop..Doesn't know his own strength.
Sofie on the other hand is a delicate little flower. Until recently, she was the boss and could manipulate Max. He has begun to over-power her and she's in shock. She started preschool on Aug 16th, and is doing well. Although the second youngest in her class, she's by far the brightest, so our concern is the academics. Will she be challenged enough? Only time will tell.
Darin's moving along the same, just getting older. Showing some gray hair, developing a few more injuries playing baseball, but that's about it.
Nothing new with me. Trying to balance my time between work and childcare. I don't know how other's with more than 2 kids. Seriously, this is some hard stuff.
We'll be visiting Darin's parents at the end of the month for about 2 weeks. The break away will be nice for everyone, however, i'm not looking forward to traveling with 2 young kids..esp since Max is highly mobile.
We don't have too much in the way planned for the Labor Day weekend. Football on Sat (two games=all day event), gymnastics and a play-date for Sofie on Sunday, then a BBQ and family b'day party for Sofie on Monday. Sofie officially turns 3 on Wed, and will celebrate it at school w/ cupcakes at snack-time. Later in the month we'll have a casual party for her at the house with an army of kids.
And that about sums up everything for the time being. :)
