Wow, Friday again so soon? Guess I shouldn't complain! :)
On Tues while Sofie enjoyed her time at school, Darin and I took the day off to golf with Dave & Lisa. Of course being it was a weekday, we were surrounded by retirees, and old ladies at that. Since I hadn't golfed in months, and even before that over a year, I was quite nervous I would plain out suck. Then again, we did have a cooler full of beers, which never tasted so good at 10am! Nothing like having a beer to take the edge off. :)
On Thursday Sofie learned to draw with chalk! I have yet to see what she drew, but it will be hung up at school this weekend for all the doting parents to admire. Her pumpkin she painted last week, well, there's no framing that, since it was a real pumpkin! And i'm not too sure she has any artistic ability (yet), since there were only two red lines on it. :) Nonetheless, she's having fun with her arts and crafts.
This morning, she said her official second, or third...we're not quite sure what to count as a "word" anymore. But Darin said and waved bye-bye to her and she replied "byeee" back. We looked at eachother with "hey....she said bye." I'll be sure to add that to her babybook tonight! :)
And lastly. We don't really know how it happened, since it wasn't planned by any means, but it just did. Sofie weaned herself off the bottle. And I mean, she's done with them....both the nipple and the container. Since she started drinking from a straw, I got her a cup with a straw that flips up and down and started giving her her milk in that. She drinks much quicker now that she's not having to suction it out of 3 small holes. Darin was a bit concerned she may be drinking less milk since she's not drinking "as long" anymore, so this morning I actually measured how much we pour into her cup and it was 7oz....which means, by her drinking out from that 3x/day, she's getting more milk than previously thought. Plus, we think she likes it better since she's able to drink all her milk in about 1/2 minute vs 5 minutes on the bottle or through a sippy cup. So far, so good, and no complaints from the princess herself. Her water, however, is still administered through a sippy. Ok, that felt long-winded.
Tonight I'm meeting up with the girls at Jacqui's house to do scrapbooking. The boys have the kids and are bbq'ing at Dave's. I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up sitting around drinking and having a vent session. Hey, there's an idea.....We'll "plan" for these scrapbooking sessions every so often so the men need to watch the kids, and we'll just hang out! I like that idea sooo much better. :)
Let's just hope Darin doesn't read this or my cover's blown.
Tomorrow the architect is coming over with the structural engineer to go over last minute details before we submit our bids. I hope hope hope we will be able to afford the improvements/additions. I can't bear to think we'll have to continue to live with our existing layout.
On Sunday a bunch of us are getting together to go canoe surfing in Dave's 4-man. I haven't been paddling for two years, and surfing canoes for even longer than that. I pray the conditions are favorable for some good rides.
