Forgot...Here's a site where some of Sofie's pictures are posted. Nothing lately since I stopped taking pix w/ the digital since I have to get those printed from a lab. I hardly have any pix to send out or put in an album. For that reason, I have started taking more w/ actual film, but as you can see, I have nothing on my computer to email out or post. Sigh... I need to do both since it's Damned if I do, Damned if I don't.
But for now, until I can scan some, here's something to pacify y'all in the meantime.

Spoke too soon. Yesterday afternoon she began reaching out to grab her toy that hangs on the bar above her bouncer. Leaps and bounds I tell ya!!

Wow. last update was awhile ago.
Things have been busy to say the least. Sofie will be 3 mos in two days and changes hourly it seems. Although, she hasn't grown as much as we had anticipated thus far, I think we may just have a petite girl on our hands...at least for now. I know of other babies born after her and they're all bigger. She just doesn't seem too interested in eating lots. And I mean she's still only drinking about 3, maybe 4 oz if we're lucky during a feeding. Others at this stage are gulping down at least 5, if not 8 oz. It's not that i'm concerned she's starving, since any site of her and you know can see the fat rolls. And I can't very well complain that she's saving us money by not going through her formula containers so quickly. But I know babies sleep longer through the night, if not completely through the night when they put on weight. She seems to be taking her time and has no concern that Darin and I are sluggish from waking so many times during the night.
Darin asked me again if I still wanted 5 kids (yup) and complained that we will never get any sleep. Umm, yah we will, but it won't be for a long long time. :)
We have her 3 mo old pictures this Friday. I hope they go over better than her 1 mo old ones (didn't look like her at all and the photog didn't seem to know how to take picutes at different angles). She hasn't begun rolling over yet, but "tummy time" seems more successful as she holds her head up for a fair amount of time. Her legs are pretty strong and she can stand on her own when I hold her hands. I'm afraid of when she starts walking....Lots of chasing on our part.
She babbles a great deal more too. Can hold her own conversations and entertain herself with her hands. She's not into reaching out to objects yet and grabbing, but has a death grip on anything put in her lap. She also holds her hands to the bottle when fed (can't wait for her to hold her own).
I still bring her to work with me which has its plusses and minuses. On the plus side, we get to witness every subtle developmental change. On the minus side, my productivity has gone out the window. In the beginning it wasn't so bad since she slept roughly 3/4th of the time. Now I'm lucky if she takes even two 15 min cat naps. She is so interested in the world around her that she wants to be a part of it all. She's perfectly content sitting on my lap watching me work, which means I type w/ one hand and bounce my left leg forever. Her bouncy chair only gives me about 15 min of relief and the Baby Bjorn, 25. As I write this, her grandpa walked in the door with a 13" tv/vcr combo which means now she can watch her Fantasia or Baby Einstein videos. That's a whopping fourty five minutes of uninterrupted work time for me. Whoo Hoo!
And work. I am busier than I had been pre-baby. read: ever!! I find I could stay at work til past 7pm if she'd let me. Since Darin gets off at 3:30 we've found it best for him to drop by and pick her up on his way home. I can then cram my days work into a few hours, but it comes at a price. Darin no longer can take a nap when he gets home unless a certain little one is napping as well. Awww, too bad.
I am wondering how we will manage as Sofia becomes more mobile. I can't keep entertaining her and she's already becomming a handfull. Ideally it would be nice to have a sitter come fetch her from my office for about 4 hrs/day. How to find such a person?
I've just started my holiday shopping. As usual had a hard time figuring out what to get everyone. Not like I can shop any old time. Got baby in tow and a stroller isn't the friendliest when shopping at a busy mall. But yesterday I came across a great idea for gifts and now I feel pretty good. All I need to do is finalize my list and prepare those to be shipped out. The rest I can wrap when I have time and can now begin to shop for me. :)
I love the holidays. I mean the shopping. I was a brave soul who took the challenge and headed to Toys R Us day after Turkey Day. Whew.....all I can say is THE TOYS ARE NOT THAT WORTH IT. Once I did manage to get into the parking lot, find parking and hike my way to the entrance w/ said stroller, I laughed my way through the crowds just to see what others were purchasing. It was obvious that I WAS NOT going to stand in that line snaked clear across the store for 3 hours. No way! I had a hard time navigating my way to the exit as it was. What silly parents I tell ya.
Note to self: No toy stores between turkey day and Christmas. Pay full price if have to. Better yet, shop at Amazon and get free shipping!
Anyway, just the usual grind day in and day out...with a baby.
Oh, forgot to mention as Bunny would be happy to know. Half the trees on "that" Pali Hwy part are already decorated. There was an article about a week ago in the paper talking about it and how one lonely tree was planted in 1981 and decorated. Since then, trees miraculously began to show up. It was said that the cops and politicians don't know who's responsible, but they will not cite anyone for decorating them since the community has not complained. Glad to know some grinch has left it to be. So, it's awaiting your arrival...as are the houses with the fake brick trim.
