A line dancer’s prayer: Thank you Lord for your blessing on dancers seeking to touch others with acts of kindness, to support one another and stand with one another; care for one another through the love of line dancing. Thanks be to God. Amen.

I HOPE YOU DANCE!                                                                                Page Last Updated: 3/22/2008

“When you get the choice to sit it out or dance, I hope you dance… I hope you dance.

Time is a wheel in constant motion always rolling us along. Tell me who wants to look back on their years and wonder where those years have gone… I hope you dance… I hope you dance…  I hope you dance.”   Aloha!

It doesn't matter where you dance, just keep on dancing. Have fun, be happy and dance until you drop!

Dance Review My 2 cents on the new dances

2008    3/6/2008, “It Hurts” – Great beginner dance. Music is catchy and dance is well choreographed for easy memory. It was instantly approved as a nice piece for our class. “Angel of the Morning” – Beautiful N2C. It is one of my most impressed dance collections. I fully appreciate the choreographer’s hard work to create the dance matches so well with the song. I highly recommend this dance to intermediate and advanced dancers.

4/16-17/2005 ALOHA WITH OHANA WORKSHOP WITH DOUG & JACKIE

Once again Doug and Jackie delivered another fun-packed workshop just this past weekend. The annual Aloha With Ohana event usually includes touring line dancers from all over the world. This year Doug & Jackie decided to give us locals an exclusive one day workshop at the Ala Wai Golf Course Clubhouse - the beautiful Palladium. The workshop was on Saturday April 16th. It was indeed a great day of dancing and fun. Plus dancers received a bonus 90 minutes review session the next day at the evening dance party. Everyone was quite impressed with the jam-packed number of dances taught at the workshop. Doug and Jackie are great instructors with loads of energy and enthusiasm that light up our dancing spirit. Somehow we managed to learn 10 dances in just one day ranging from beginner to high intermediate levels. Following are dances we learned but not necessarily still remembered :0)

Enchantment by Jo Thompson choreographed to Land of Enchantment by Michael Martin Murphey, very beautiful and smooth beginner dance, guarantee a pleaser.

Chevy by Sal Gonzalez choreographed to 455 Rocket by Kathy Mattea, a high beginner dance with lots of attitude and styling possibilities.

Flying High by Jan Wyllie choreographed to Bluebird by Anne Murray, a high beginner dance with body sways and turns. You just love the song and want to sing along while happy dancing.

Hey Bruce by Michael Barr choreographed to The Heat Is On, a definite intermediate dance, with hand motion goes like combing hair without mess up the hairdo. The dance has many interesting and creative steps with the Hustle basic & 1 2 3 count. I heard this was a big hit line dance back then in the late 90’s.

It Had To Be You by Denise Boyle choreographed to It Had To Be You by Rod Stewart, a beginner dance, one of my favorite dances from the workshop. The song is just too nice to miss dancing to it.

Live For Today by Doug & Jackie Miranda choreographed to If Tomorrow Never Comes, great choreography to this beautiful, classic song track. How can you not like it?  Even with the many turns, dancers were smiling and happy after finishing this intermediate dance.

Second Chance Waltz by Michael Barr choreographed to Second Chance by Trisha Yearwood. This is a basic beginning waltz. You can do it with any waltz music and feel really good about dancing with ease.

You Can Dance by Doug & Jackie Miranda choreographed to Save The Last Dance For Me by Michael Buble, a intermediate A B dance, one wall phrased nicely with the distinct break of A B, you just have to listen to the music. This is a great feel good dance and the popular #1 favorite dance of the workshop.

Woo Woo by Judi Wynne choreographed to Love Train by Big  & Rich. This is an easy two-step beginner dance, fit to dance to any two-step music, a very cute and fun dance with Woo… Woo shouting contest in the middle of the dance while doing the heel swivels.

Gonna Build A Mountain by Doug & Jackie Miranda choreographed to Gonna Build A Mountain by Matt Monroe, a intermediate 2 wall dance with somewhat challenging ending but nicely choreographed. Jackie is great with the instruction since the hold and turn point is a bit tricky.

Mahalo! Doug and Jackie for a great workshop. We enjoy your friendship and appreciate your hard work.

3/28 Palladium Dance Event

Great music played by DJ Sam. Everyone enjoyed the dances along with the delicious potluck dishes. Phillis reviewed a dance that was taught at Ward Warehouse the same week. Gracie led the group with two simple dances – Tequila, 1000 Years(and More). Patrick (from Kilauea group) showed everyone how to do the east coast Tush Push. The quick hands and feet coordination was quite challenging to many of us. We all had a great fun night. Monthly Palladium dance event is truly a can-not-miss event for the local line dancers. Thanks you Phillis and Sam.

Dance:     Just My Imagination

Great music. Although the dance is a little bit challenging than a typical 32-count beginner dance, but it is worthwhile to spend time learning this one. It is such an enjoyable dance.
