The Walk to

Christian Leadership
Hawaii Walk to Emmaus
This is an ecumenical program of lectures, discussion, and fellowship for Christian men and women (men's and women's Walks are held separately) who earnestly want to deepen their knowledge and faith and prepare to become leaders.   About 30 people usually gather for each walk. The estimated cost is $100/person, to defray site rental, meals and incidentals for three days and three nights).  Partial and full scholarships are available.  These are sincere and well organized participatory programs for Christians of any denomination.

What do Hawaii Walk to Emmaus participants do back in their congregations? Email me about your congregation's activities in which Emmaus participants actively participate, and the kind of help the congregation needs, as well as any relevant links. I'm starting this with a link below to a page on the subjects of leadership and giving in the congregation I know the best, my own, and on which the Walk to Emmaus has had a signficant, beneficial impact.

The Hawai`i Walk to Emmaus organization was brought into existence in 1994 and nurtured for many years by Pastors Kathy and Jim† Ledgerwood who had been active in the program for many years in California, and Dub and Marilyn Terry on the laity side, all of whom were at First United Methodist Church of Honolulu at the time.  Thanks, Kathy and Jim† and Dub and Marilyn!  We praise God with tears of joy that the Holy Spirit moved you and all those who joined you to do this work here.
