The Lucifer Chapter
A Commentary On Isaiah Chapter 14 As Presented In
The Authorized King James Version Of 1769

  Our focus in this article, is upon The 14th Chapter of Isaiah; I'm calling it the Lucifer Chapter because that is where Lucifer is mentioned in several translations of the Bible. This part of the Bible is horribly misunderstood, and subsequently, an incorrectly taught part of it.  The way it is most often taught, is solely as a history lesson; however, when YAHUAH gave Isaiah these words; they were not simply current events at the time; they were also prophecy and a type of what would transpire in Israel, more specifically, Jerusalem, in the distant future.   Read Isaiah Chapter 14,  verse by verse, below with the comments I've inserted as necessary.

Isaiah Chapter 14

1  For the YAHUAH will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob.

Notice in the first verse, that  "Jacob,"  and "the house of Jacob" are mentioned twice in comparison to Israel's single mention.  I believe the reason for this, is that the nation which  has been occupying Palestine, and calling itself Israel, and expanding there since 1948, is not truly Israel. Scripturally, it is Jacob. YAHUAH did not triumphantly bring Israel back into the land in 1948 since the Romans dispersed them centuries ago.  The notion that YAHUAH actively had anything to do with the 1948 occupation of Palestine by Jacob is total error. These are not Israel's times yet.  This Jacob must first contend with what is called in the Scriptures, "Jacob's trouble" (Jer. 30:7); that "trouble" happens to be the seven year-long, Great Tribulation.

 Here, briefly, beginning in 1897, is what culminated in the 1948 incident:

In the year 5657 (1897), Theodore Herzl convened the First Zionist Congress,  and proclaimed the right of the Jewish people to national rebirth in its own country.  On 14 May 1948 British Mandate ends and the State of Israel was proclaimed.

What went on in Palestine between 1897 and 1948 was not YAHUAH resettling Israel.

Any honest person, who knows the Scriptures; knows that the Great Tribulation must occur first. Furthermore, a bunch of  people, headed by one man,  and all of them not willing to wait upon YAHUAH to provide them a country; cannot just up and go out on their own, forcibly take it from someone else; establish it for themselves; put the people living there at a great disadvantage, even exile; and then say, "YAHUAH provided this land to us."  No, that is a deceitful lie, and putting it plainly , that is exactly what happened!

YAHUAH did not have anything to do at all with putting anyone back in that part of the world...........yet. If He did, as many believe; then, where's the Temple, the one that replaces the one that the Romans destroyed on the Temple Mount, at Jerusalem —hmmmmmmmmmm????   What sits near that location at present, is an Islamic Mosque.

To quote an old cliché,

 "Wherrrrre's the beef?"

How can it be thought that YAHUAH would reestablish a certain people, in a certain land—without reestablishing His Temple there also in a reasonable  amount of TIME afterward???????? 

The very idea that YAHUAH would do such a half-baked thing as that, is outrageously laughable! 

YAHUAH is going to reestablish Israel; He shall open their eyes and gather them from all the earth and bring them to the land that He shall provide them; to the new city he has prepared for them; and to His living Temple—YAHUAH the Messiah Himself.  New Jerusalem is not going to have a temple of masonry and mortar.

 "And I saw no temple therein: for YAHUAH Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it."  (Re 21:22)

It is now 2004; a Nation State 'called' Israel was established—not by YAHUAH, but by man in 1948. 

We have seen the passage of 56 years at this writing, FIFTY-SIX YEARS;  that's over half a century, and still, NO TEMPLE!  What does that tell you?

What is clear though, is that another temple shall be rebuilt there, but probably only after something happens to the Dome of The Rock.  The Palestinians will not peacefully tolerate the reconstruction of another temple upon the spot occupied by their house of worship.  There is documentation that states that the true location of the Temple demolished by the Romans is not where the Dome of The Rock sits, but is actually 600 feet south of the famous Wailing Wall. 

Regardless of where it is rebuilt, I don't think the Palestinians will peacefully stand there and watch it to go up.  Nevertheless, they will not be able to stop its completion. It is also clear from the scroll [book] of the Revelation of Yahuashuah the Messiah, that the next temple which shall be rebuilt in Jerusalem, shall be the throne of the false Messiah, called antichrist throughout Christendom.

So, since Israel rejected their true Messiah—Who happens to be YAHUAH's Son, the One known as Yahushuah of Nazareth—YAHUAH allowed them to be overthrown by the Romans, allowed the Temple to be demolished, and allowed the rejecters of Messiah to be forcibly dispersed across the face of the earth. Remember this, as long as YAHUAH held Israel in favor, no one but the High Priest  could so much as put a toe inside the Temple's Holy of Holies without being struck stone cold dead by YAHUAH Himself.  Yet, the Romans entered it and totally destroyed it without any of them getting killed this way.  How was that possible?  The answer is quite easy.  When YAHUAH's only Son, the Messiah was rejected and crucified, (something YAHUAH intended to have happen all along in order to save all mankind) the Temple made of masonry and mortar was abandoned by Him.  Yahuashuah of Nazareth from birth had become the Living Temple, and the Holy of Holies was his body in which YAHUAH dwelt.  That is how the Great Temple at Jerusalem was able to be destroyed.  'Elohim had left the building!'  The records of Matthew and Luke prove it!

 "And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;" (Mt 27:51)

The veil of the Temple, was the veil covering the Holy of Holies.  No one can explain in any other way than I just have, how that veil covering the holy of holies was torn.  YAHUAH did it!  That veil represented the flesh of Yahushuah the Messiah, which was torn for us!  And it was the Father who caused those who crucified him to do it!

 "Yet it pleased the YAHUAH to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the YAHUAH shall prosper in his hand. 11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities."  (Isa 53:10)

 "And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.  And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst. And when Yahushuah had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.  (Lu 23:44-46)

There are clearly similarities between the Great Temple that was at Jerusalem, and the Great Temple which is Yahuashuah Himself.

Yahushuah told his Jewish inquisitors that if they were to, "destroy this Temple, he would in three days raise it up."  He wasn't speaking of the Temple of masonry and mud, he was speaking of his body. (John 2:19-21)

So you see, it does not matter at all when another temple of masonry and mud does eventually get constructed in Jerusalem.  The Spirit of YAHUAH shall not inhabit it.  A false Messiah shall come and occupy it for a short while, and then that temple shall likewise be destroyed, along with the entire city of Jerusalem (Mystery Babylon) once again, but this time not by outsiders, but by the Jews themselves!

 "And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast." (Re 17:12)

 The only people that shall be receiving power as kings with the beast, are the kings that shall arise, each one, from one of the ten tribes of the Jews [Gentiles are not going to be permitted to occupy such high royal office.  They are Goyim and dogs in the eyes of this coming ruling elite].

There are twelve tribes, but two of the twelve tribes cannot become kings, these are Judah and Levi.  Judah must serve in legislative affairs, while Levi serves in religious affairs.   As I have stated though, these ten Jewish kings will destroy the rebuilt temple at Jerusalem along with the city itself when they realize that they've been duped by Satan!  YAHUAH will cause them to do it!

 "And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. For YAHUAH hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of YAHUAH shall be fulfilled.
(Re 17:16-17)

The Spirit of YAHUAH inhabits the resurrected and glorified person of the YAHUAH Yahushuah the Messiah Who is now and permanently, the Temple of the Living YAHUAH.  It makes no sense for YAHUAH to revert to dwelling in a temple made of masonry and mud, by the sinful hands of men, when He dwells so gloriously in the person of His Dear Son!

Notice: All that has happened in Palestine since 1948, is a Middle Eastern sort of Manifest Destiny.  The most obvious difference being of course, that Israel was indeed the former landholder there centuries ago.  By the way; YAHUAH was not behind the American Manifest Destiny either.  He does not sanction the theft [human conquest] of lands and the wholesale slaughter (genocide) of entire nations of indigenous people, who once were the original custodians of what is now called the North American Continent and the Hawaiian Islands.   Yes, Hawaii was stolen [conquered] too, only with comparatively very little bloodshed.

Continuing along in Isaiah:

2  And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of the YAHUAH for servants and handmaids: and they shall take them captives, whose captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors.

3 And it shall come to pass in the day that the YAHUAH shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve,

Verses 1 thru 3, clearly, are written about a time that is yet future; they are  only about Israel, and that sets the tone for the whole chapter.  The words "hard bondage" are not a reference to the imprisonment and holocaust of World War II.  He says in verse 3, "it shall come to pass." Those words  therefore point to the Great Tribulation wherein they will suffer again under hard bondage. 

"Jacob's trouble," (Jer 30:7), which is the Great Tribulation, has yet to occur, and it is not until after the Great Tribulation that the YAHUAH will have mercy on Jacob.  The words, "king of Babylon" in verse 4  therefore, are not only the slap-in-the-face kind of a name which YAHUAH called Ahaz via the prophet Isaiah; Ahaz is also the type of the coming king of the "mystery Babylon" of Re. 17:5. 

Without a doubt then, the Babylon of Isa. 14:4, and the Mystery Babylon of the Book of The Revelation, are Jerusalem, not Rome. The fact that YAHUAH in Isa. 14:4 calls Ahaz, who was the king of Jerusalem, The king Babylon; is the absolute proof.   By the way, Jerusalem also is a city of ¹Seven Hills or Mounts!

The two mountains that do not appear in Scripture, Acra and Bezetha, are mentioned in the Jewish Encyclopedia. Instead of these two, some include the Mount of Olives and the Mount of Offence, but technically the Old City is not situated on these two eastern mounts.

Papal Rome has certainly left its bloody  handprints over much of the world since from around the 4th century;  a thorough study of Foxes Book Of Martyrs, books on the Spanish Inquisition, and other writings of her conduct around the world, especially in the Latin American nations, will acquaint the reader with Papal Rome's murderous history.  Her legacy continues today with all the child molestations occurring due to the doctrine of devils code of celibacy their clergy are compelled to practice.  At least if they were permitted to marry, one problem would virtually disappear. 

Anyway, Papal Rome is not the city of seven hills written of in the Revelation, Jerusalem is; but the way the Church of Rome is, makes it easy to understand how it could be mistaken to be Mystery Babylon.  Nevertheless credit must go to where it truly belongs, and that is to Jerusalem.   The Revelation has Jerusalem and Israel in sharp focus; and all who study this book would be wise to remember that, and keep the focus sharp  in their studies. 

Here is something worth remembering as you study this subject: Isaiah 14 is the type, and Re. 17, is the antitype or the substance of what was earlier prophesied. 

Alright then, let's continue:

4 That thou shalt take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased!

5 The YAHUAH hath broken the staff of the wicked, and the sceptre of the rulers.

6 He who smote the people in wrath with a continual stroke, he that ruled the nations in anger, is persecuted, and none hindereth.

7 The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet: they break forth into singing.

8 Yea, the fir trees rejoice at thee, and the cedars of Lebanon, saying, Since thou art laid down, no feller is come up against us.

9 Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.

10 All they shall speak and say unto thee, Art thou also become weak as we? art thou become like unto us?

11 Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee.

12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

Again, please get this:  The entire chapter is not a history lesson;  it is a prophecy.  The traditional teaching, that it is history, is patently wrong.

And, since it is a prophesy; the so-called, historic "Lucifer" therefore, has never existed; therefore, the presence of the name Lucifer in the translation, constitutes adding to the words of YAHUAH. 

In verse 12, the Latin translators who were responsible for the creation of the Latin Vulgate which preceded the KJAV, added the un-Scriptural, Latin name, "Lucifer,"  and the KJAV translators, taking certain elements from the Vulgate, retained it .  

The name "Lucifer" is not even a correct translation of the Hebrew word, 'helel,' and is not a transliteration of it.  It truly is an ADDITION to the word of YAHUAH by men.

The Hebrew word 'helel' should have been translated 'howl' instead of being substituted with the name, "Lucifer."   Then, the passage would correctly read,  "How art thou fallen from heaven; howl son of the morning...."

Another way to understand that odd sounding passage [it sounds odd only because we have been spoon-fed the erroneous rendering of it for so long] is to read it thus:

"How [marvelously] are you cast from heaven; howl [greatly about it,] son of the morning....

King Ahaz was called "son of the morning" simply because Isaiah 14 is a type of the counterfeit kingdom of heaven of the coming false Messiah.  The real Kingdom of Heaven that shall come after the Great Tribulation, shall occur in what shall be called, "the morning."   And the King that shall sit upon the Throne of David on THAT morning, shall indeed be the genuine Son Of The Morning; none other than the Messiah Yahushuah.

As we see though, Isaiah 14, verses 12 through 20, are about king Ahaz who filled the role of being the type of anti-Messiah, who will sit in the temple of YAHUAH, setting forth himself that he is YAHUAH. (2 Thess 2:4)

13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of YAHUAH: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

The "mount of the congregation in the sides of the north" is a greatly misunderstood phrase. It does not refer to some celestial place, as is  traditionally taught; it is the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. The "congregation" were the Jews and proselytes who worshipped there.  The spirits in heaven are called the "heavenly host," not a congregation.  The word congregation always refers to an assembly of people,  and chiefly, the people of Israel.

Now, according to 2 Kings 16:2, "Twenty years old was Ahaz when he began to reign, and reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem, and did not that which was right in the sight of the YAHUAH his Elohim, like David his father." 

Notice the words "north side" which I highlighted near the end of this series of verses.  North side is identical to "sides of the north" in verse 13.

 "And king Ahaz went to Damascus to meet Tiglathpileser king of Assyria, and saw an altar that was at Damascus: and king Ahaz sent to Urijah the priest the fashion of the altar, and the pattern of it, according to all the workmanship thereof. 11 And Urijah the priest built an altar according to all that king Ahaz had sent from Damascus: so Urijah the priest made it against king Ahaz came from Damascus. 12 And when the king was come from Damascus, the king saw the altar: and the king approached to the altar, and offered thereon. 13 And he burnt his burnt offering and his meat offering, and poured his drink offering, and sprinkled the blood of his peace offerings, upon the altar. 14 And he brought also the brasen altar, which was before the YAHUAH, from the forefront of the house, from between the altar and the house of the YAHUAH, and put it on the north side of the altar.  (2Ki 16:11-14)

The Temple of the YAHUAH always had the altar services performed while facing west, and the Temple was always entered from the east. 

We have been misled for years by teachings which say that YAHUAH's direction is north.  NO!  that is not true!  Satan's direction is north.  He presides over the world, as the YAHUAH of the world  and the top of the world is to the north.  Curiously, also towards the north, in outer space, is a region of fewer stars than in other directions. Is that a sign of the third of the stars of heaven that the tail of the dragon shall draw down—as written in Revelation 12:4? 

By the way; the star which currently presides over the world at the north, is the star Polaris.  Polaris is among the stars which form the asterism known as Ursa Minor or Little Bear.  This asterism is also known as the Little Dipper.  Curiously, it is the smaller, nearly identical twin  to the asterism Ursa Major or Big Bear, also known as the Big Dipper.  Could this asterism (Ursa Minor)  be the celestial portrayal of the antichrist?

 

Pagans are known adherents of astrology and symbology.  The swastika, long before its adoption as the symbol of the Nazis, was sacred to the pagans.  Notice what results if you record the position of the Big Dipper as it seems to rotate about the North Star at each quarter rotation of the Earth!  What is in the center of the swastika? Polaris—symbol of antichrist!  Now, if Ursa Major represents the genuine Christ; then, what you have portrayed by the swastika, is religion presided over by the false messiah, because at the center of this portrayal is Polaris!

Another symbol of the pagans is a cross with sections of equal length.  If you use only the guide stars of Ursa Major, which point to Polaris, you end up with one!  The Nazis used this symbol as well! 

Another of the prominent stars in the  north is Sirius (Gk. meaning Scorching); also known as Canis Majoris (Great Dog). It is said that Sirius was the Pole or North Star when the pyramids were built.  

In Egypt, Sirius shines for most of the summer, and since it is such a bright star, the Egyptians actually believed that the additional light from this nearby star was responsible for the summer heat. This of course is not true. However the origin of the phrase 'the dog days of summer' comes from this ancient belief - the 'dog star' being the root of this common saying! 

Furthermore, Sirius happens to be the brightest star in the sky after the Sun.  Satan is called an angel (messenger) of light (2Cor. 11:14).

The north, astrologically, is particularly sacred to pagans; and king Ahaz of Jerusalem, spiritually and proverbially called "the king of Babylon" by YAHUAH; had his priest Urijah pattern an altar in Jerusalem after the pagan one in Damascus, and then Ahaz had the sacred brasen altar taken from its proper place in the Temple of the YAHUAH, and put on the "north side" of the altar that Urijah had constructed under Ahaz' orders!  So it was Ahaz, not the invented Lucifer whom was portrayed as having said in Isa. 14:

14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

But YAHUAH said, through the prophet Isaiah:

15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

That is, to death, and to the grave. Satan is not mortal, he never was and therefore cannot die. 

16 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;

Do you see that?  It is a man, not some fallen celestial creature.

17 That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?

Also,  the reign of Ahaz is a type of the rule of the coming false Messiah (called antichrist). 

Read of how wickedly Ahaz ruled.  Easton's Bible Dictionary lays it out:

AHAZ  possessor.

(1.) A grandson of Jonathan (1 Chr. 8:35; 9:42).

(2.) The son and successor of Jotham, king of Judah (2 Kings 16; Isa. 7-9; 2 Chr. 28). He gave himself up to a life of wickedness and idolatry. Notwithstanding the remonstrances and warnings of Isaiah, Hosea, and Micah, he appealed for help against Rezin, king of Damascus, and Pekah, king of Israel, who threatened Jerusalem, to Tiglath-pileser, the king of Assyria, to the great injury of his kingdom and his own humiliating subjection to the Assyrians (2 Kings 16:7, 9; 15:29). He also introduced among his people many heathen and idolatrous customs (Isa. 8:19; 38:8; 2 Kings 23:12). He died at the age of thirty-five years, after reigning sixteen years (B.C. 740-724), and was succeeded by his son Hezekiah. Because of his wickedness he was "not brought into the sepulchre of the kings."

See how the words in Isaiah match this description to a "T!" 

18 All the kings of the nations, even all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own house.

19 But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, and as the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcase trodden under feet.

20 Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, and slain thy people: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned.

21 Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their fathers; that they do not rise, nor possess the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities.

22 For I will rise up against them, saith the YAHUAH of hosts, and cut off from Babylon the name, and remnant, and son, and nephew, saith the YAHUAH.

23 I will also make it a possession for the bittern, and pools of water: and I will sweep it with the besom of destruction, saith the YAHUAH of hosts.

24 ¶ The YAHUAH of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand:

25 That I will break the Assyrian in my land, and upon my mountains tread him under foot: then shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders.

26 This is the purpose that is purposed upon the whole earth: and this is the hand that is stretched out upon all the nations.

27 For the YAHUAH of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul it? and his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?

28 In the year that king Ahaz died was this burden.

29 Rejoice not thou, whole Palestina, because the rod of him that smote thee is broken: for out of the serpent's root shall come forth a cockatrice, and his fruit shall be a fiery flying serpent.

30 And the firstborn of the poor shall feed, and the needy shall lie down in safety: and I will kill thy root with famine, and he shall slay thy remnant.

31 Howl, O gate; cry, O city; thou, whole Palestina, art dissolved: for there shall come from the north a smoke, and none shall be alone in his appointed times.

32 What shall one then answer the messengers of the nation? That the YAHUAH hath founded Zion, and the poor of his people shall trust in it.

King Ahaz, of the tribe of Judah, was the type of the coming false Messiah—who shall trouble Jacob during the great tribulation; make the earth to tremble; shake kingdoms; make the world a wilderness; destroy all the cities; and never release any of those he wrongfully imprisons.
