Debunking Religious Myths:
Lucifer
By Bob CopeOne of the most amazing things I have come to realize, is that, many teachers of the Word of YAHUAH, believe and teach, by implication, that the prophets, Isaiah and Ezekiel, were historians rather than prophets on at least one important prophecy. That prophesy has to do with the man in the Scriptures called the "day star" ( Isaiah 14:12 KJAV margin). Actually, the correctly translated way reads, "son of the dawn."
Teachers make errors, [like the one they made being exposed here], mostly because, that is how they were taught, and, they simply never learned any better.
There are some olde errors, that are still commonly taught, throughout Christendom, which involve the 14th chapter of Isaiah, and the 28th chapter of Ezekiel.
If these errors, which are still being taught, really are true; they would indeed make Isaiah and Ezekiel historians , rather than prophets, on the particular areas of Scripture under examination. I think you will be able to see what I mean after you carefully think over what follows.
The errors continuing to be taught today, are:
. Teaching as truth, the old story about an intelligent celestial creature whom the Latin translators of old, named Lucifer. 'He' never actually existed! The Lucifer story is a complete religious fabrication
Leading folks to believe that Lucifer is a correct translation of the Hebrew word 'heylel,' despite the fact that no name of any kind can be translated from the word which YAHUAH inspired Isaiah to write in the original! And the name "Lucifer," absolutely cannot be derived from anywhere else in either the Hebrew or the Greek original language Scriptures!
The truth of the matter is that the name got transcribed into the English translations from the Latin Vulgate! Oh, yes! The translators did indeed produce the 'venerated' KJAV from the Latin Vulgate. Now, that's a bitter pill for some KJV infallibility believers to swallow, but it is the indisputable truth. Neither the Latin Vulgate, nor the KJAV are the Holy Scriptures. Only the original language writings can enjoy such status. All else are either translations or copies of the Holy Scriptures. The unscrupulous translators who made the Latin Vulgate, ADDED to the Word of YAHUAH by inserting the name Lucifer!
- " quomodo cecidisti de caelo lucifer qui mane oriebaris corruisti in terram qui vulnerabas gentes" (Isaiah 14:12) Latin Vulgate)
Lucifer is not a correct translation of the Hebrew word "IIyh" or "heylel" Now here's that same verse, from an interlinear:
"How art thou fallen <naphal> from heaven, <shamayim> [O Lucifer,]<heylel> son <ben> of the morning! <shachar> how <yalal> art thou cut down <gada> to the ground,<erets> which didst weaken <chalash> the nations! <gowy>" (Isa 14:12)One can see that the name 'Lucifer' is not a translation nor a transliteration of the Hebrew word heylel; it comes 'straight out of the bottle' of the Latin Vulgate.
More errors that continue to be taught on this today are:
Teaching the people by way of implication, that a prophet, who wrote prophetically about something, had written about it historically .
Fabricating the confused story of a fallen, top-level leadership, celestial creature, in his supposed original surroundings by piecing together seemingly related verses of Scripture written by another prophet [whose writings are also often misunderstood]; whom many Bible teachers also make an historian, rather than a prophet-- by way of teaching that parts of his yet to be fulfilled prophecy, are history, in order to make the writings of these two prophets jive with the unscriptural religious fairy tale about the fall of the mythological Lucifer! We may appropriately call that sort of fabrication, ' Jack-leg theology!'
Don't misunderstand me; Lucifer is a Latin religious fairy tale but Satan is quite real.
Surely you can see, that, if what Isaiah and Ezekiel wrote about, concerning this man [not some fantastic celestial creature, named Lucifer], were truly an account of Satan's former days as an anointed cherub; then, such writings MUST be regarded as a history lesson.
Careful study however, shows that it is a man who is called the "day star" (Isaiah 14:12 KJAV margin); not the so-called anointed cherub, of Ezekiel 28.
The "Thou" in verse 15, of Ezekiel, chapter 28; refers to the king of Tyrus, who was indeed, very human!
Now, when one's teaching leads his pupils to accept that a prophecy, still awaiting fulfilment, is an historical account; THAT, is simply raw deception and such nonsensical teaching has to be exposed.
Corrupt teaching such as the Lucifer myth has dumped a tremendous amount of similar erroneous rubbish upon the minds of millions of Bible believers, leaving them so bewildered and blind, that they are unable to distinguish Scriptural truths from religious fairy tales! While we're on it, do you know what fairy tales really are? They are doctrines of demons, because fairies, or faeries; are, actually, the demons. The word "fairy" is simply a euphemism.
Go and re-study Isaiah and Ezekiel, keeping in mind that, at the time both prophets wrote their books, under divine inspiration , MOST of what they wrote, was prophetic not historic!
Do that, and then see how these facts thoroughly VAPORIZE the Lucifer myth!
It is going to feel really uncomfortable when you finally realize the truth, but you'll get over it. Keep this in mind as well: Isaiah and Ezekiel warned Israel of things that were to come ; not of things that supposedly happened before the creation of man!
See what I mean?
