Return
for
the Kingdom of Heaven
is
Near.
"If
you’re beat down in the spirit, you should be happy,
Because that is the first step for entering the
kingdom of heaven. (Zephaniah
2:3)
If you are starving and thirsting for righteousness, you should be happy,
Because you are going to be filled with it.
If you’re merciful, you should be happy,
Because you are going to get mercy.
If you’re pure in your purpose, you should be happy,
Because you are going to see God.
If you’re purpose is making peace between God and man, you should be happy,
Because you are going to be called sons of God.
Those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake should be happy,
Because they will receive the kingdom of Heaven.
(Yeshua's*
message to the crowd, Matthew
5-7, Paraphrased for our Generation)
*Yeshua
is the original Hebrew name of Jesus.
It
means Salvation. More Info
What
is our purpose in life?
"You
are supposed to be the light of the world. Nobody puts a lamp under a basket.
No, they put it on a lamp stand, to give light to everyone in the house.
Let your light shine before men, so that they see how wonderful your
Father in heaven is, because they see Him doing good works through you.
"Don’t
think that I came to destroy the Torah, (which is the Law of Moses) or
any part of the Bible. I came to enable you to fulfill it completely.
Not one letter of
the Torah will be done away with before every prophecy in it is fulfilled.
So whoever breaks the smallest command in it, and teaches people
this, will be the least in the kingdom of heaven; but if you do them and teach
them, you will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. Listen up, if
your righteousness is not greater than what Rabbinical Judaism teaches, you will
never get into the kingdom of heaven.”
Then Yeshua
explained what he meant by ‘greater righteousness.’
"Judaism
emphasizes what you do, but what you think is important too.
They teach, "You should not murder, and whoever murders will be in
danger when they are judged.' But The Torah also teaches that anger
with a brother without a real cause puts you in danger in the judgment.
Therefore
if you come to worship, and then you remember that your brother has something
against you, leave and get things right with your brother first, and
then come back to worship.
"You
have heard that the Torah teaches, "You shall not commit adultery.' But it
also teaches that if anyone looks at a woman with lust, he has already committed
adultery with her in his heart. "
(Exodus 20:17) (See Torah, Precedence of Commands.)
"The
general thinking today is to get a divorce, if you don’t like your wife. But,
if you get divorced, it needs to be for a very serious offence, like sexual
immorality or worse.”
"Again
Judaism teaches, "You shall not swear falsely, but you shall perform your
oaths to the Lord.' But
it is wiser to not swear at all. But
let your "Yes' be "Yes,' and your "No,' "No.' For whatever
is more than these is designed to trap you.”
Our Purpose is to draw others to God, by
flowing with His true character of love.
"You have heard that the Torah says, "An eye for
an eye and a tooth for a tooth.' But the Torah also teaches you not to resist an
evil person. If someone slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him
also. If anyone wants to
sue you and take the shirt off your back, let him have your coat also. And
if someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two. Give to him
who asks you, and don’t turn away some one who wants to borrow from you. (Deuteronomy
6:7, 15:6-11, 25:35)
"Some teach that the Torah says, ‘Love your neighbor, but says nothing
about loving your enemy.' But actually the Torah teaches to love
your enemies, and bless those who curse you, and to do good to those who hate
you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you.”
“How
can you tell the difference between evil and good people, if God provides the
sun for both? And between the just
and the unjust, since he rains on both of them? So think about it.
If you love those who love you, is that a big deal? Even evil people do
that. And if you greet your brothers only, what are you doing that is
more than others? Even evil people do that.
In
order to be recognized as the sons of your Father in heaven, you need to be
perfectly righteous, just like your Father in heaven is perfect.
(Exodus 22:21, Deuteronomy 32:43)
Developing
our own real personal relationship with God
is
the key to living perfectly righteously.
"Don’t
do good for recognition from men. You won’t get a reward from your Father in
heaven for that. A lot of hypocrites serve in the church or synagogue
or community, to get a pat on the back or a plaque on the wall. That is their
reward. Instead don’t let people know about your good deeds.
Do them in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you
personally.” (Deuteronomy 6:5)
Now
About Prayer
"Don’t
be a religious hypocrite, who loves to pray publicly, so that people think they
are super spiritual. They have
their reward already. But you, when you pray, go into your room, and
when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place;
and your Father who sees in secret will reward you personally.”
“And
when you pray, don’t use meaningless repetitions in your prayers, like
idolaters or witches, who do spells. They think that the words have the power.
Don’t be like them, because your Father knows what you need before you
ask for it.”
This
is the way to pray:
1.
Our Father in heaven, (Get your relationship with God straight first)
(1 John 1:9, 2
Chronicles 7:14, Isaiah 59:2)
2.
Set apart Your name. (Praise and thank Him to boost your faith in His
power and love.) (Psalm 100, Ephesians
5:19-20)
3.
Make Your kingdom come. (Let go of everything else
and turn your life over to Him) (I
Corinthians 14:1-4, Ephesians 5:18, Romans 8:26, Acts 1:4-8, 2:1-47)
4.
Make Your will be done, as in heaven, even on earth. (Ask for your
needs.) (Psalm 91:15, Isaiah
58:9-14, I Peter 5:7, Hebrews 4:16, Mark 9:23, Psalm 122:6, Matthew 9:37,
19:16-30)
5.
Give us our
portion of bread, today. (Get input from His Scripture,
(Exodus 19:5, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Joshua 1:7-8, Deuteronomy 6:4-9, 17:19, Psalm
1, 119)
His
Spirit (Romans
8, John 16:5-15) and His people.
(I Corinthians 12, 14))
6.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. (Apply
what you learn to your life) (2
Kings 22:11-13, Matthew 6:14-15, 7:1-12, James 1-2)
7.
And do not lead us into temptation, but rescue us from
evil. (Then go out and do it, by His power.)
"Think
about it. If you forgive men their
debts, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.” (This is operating on
mercy.) “But if
you don’t forgive men their debts, your Father won’t forgive you either.” (This
is operating on payment.)
"Also,
when you fast, don’t advertise it like a hypocrite, by having a sad face.
Recognition from men is their reward. Instead, when you fast, wash and dress yourself like
normal, so you don’t look like you’re fasting.
Then your Father, who is with you in your secret place, will reward you
personally.”
"Don’t
collect things here on earth. It will eventually be destroyed by moths or rust,
or be stolen. Think about this.
If you collect treasures in heaven, moths and rust can’t destroy it,
and no one can steal it. The point is that your
heart is going to be where ever your treasure is.”
"What
you take in is what you will be filled with and will effect what do.”
“If
you look at good things you will be filled with enlightenment. But if
you look at evil things, you will be filled with darkness.
If you do not control your input, so that you are being filled with good
things, then the world will control your input and fill you up with a deep
darkness.”
You can’t stay neutral.
"No one can serve two masters;
“For
either he will hate one and love the other, or he will be loyal to the first one
and despise the other. You must choose to serve God,
or else you will choose to let the world rule you.”
Don’t
think you can do it? Too old? Too
young? Too this or that?
It
is possible to do what God wants you to do, by God’s provision.
He
is greater than any problem you might have.
"Don’t
worry about what you are going to eat or drink or what to wear. Your purpose in
life is greater than food and clothing, isn’t it?
Think about the birds. They
don’t prepare, nor save up. Your
heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you worth more than birds?
Can
worrying make you taller? "So why do you worry about clothing? Think about
wild flowers. They grow even though they don’t work.
And yet, they have more beautiful clothes than any of the richest
people on earth. Right? Now
if God clothes the grass of the field, which grows today, and tomorrow it is
burned. Don’t you think He will
clothe you? Worry indicates a
lack of faith. So don’t
worry about what to eat or what to drink or What to wear?' People who reject spiritual reality focus on these
things.
“Your
heavenly Father knows what you need.
“If
you seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness first, then all these things
will be provided for you.
“Worry
is about future events that are not real right now, and probably will never
happen. To be successful, you need
to focus your faith on the present moment.” A disciple
lives by faith, letting go of his worldly props and depending solely on God.
The
reason that you notice certain irritating things in other people is because you
have a similar problem within yourself. Concentrate
on your own personal growth, by looking for that problem inside yourself and
correcting that, instead of being distracted with something that you can’t
change, because it is outside of yourself.
"Don’t
Judge, so that you won’t be not judged. How you judge is how you
will be judged. Whatever you dish out to others will be returned to you somehow.
“It
is easy to see the speck in your brother's eye, but you don’t think about the
board in your own eye? How can you help your brother get the speck
out of his eye, while a board is in your own eye? Hypocrite! You have
to get the board out of your own eye, before you can see clearly to remove the
speck from your brother's eye.
"And
the pearls that you get from the Lord, don’t give them to pigs.
They will trample them and then come after you.
God
will provide everything you need to accomplish your purpose, directly by asking
in prayer, or by searching the Scripture, and by help from your congregational
team.
"Ask,
and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be
opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks
finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. What would you do if your son
asked for food? Would you give him
a rock? Or if he asked
for a fish, would you give him a snake? You are evil, but you know
how to give good gifts to your children that you love. Don’t you think that
your Father in heaven knows how to give you good things, when you ask Him!
Here
is a summary of the Torah.
Treat people like you want to be treated.
Being
totally committed to Yeshua’s Discipling Course is the only way to accomplish
your purpose.
Be
honest with yourself, before the judgment comes.
Which direction are you really going?
"Enter
by the narrow gate. There is a wide gate, which is the path to destruction.
Most people go that direction. The path to life is difficult
and has a narrow gate. Therefore,
only a few find it.
Our
Pattern
Yeshua
ministered on Earth for three years. He
gathered 12 disciples and sent them out in teams of two with spiritual gifts to
share the message of the Kingdom in Matthew 10.
Later we read about Him sending out 72. (Lk 10)
Reason with me now on what happened.
6 teams of 2 were sent out to various towns. Each team duplicated the 12 person discipling program of Yeshua.
6 times 12 equals 72. After
teaching them what they had learned, the 72 were sent out to duplicate this same
example. By the end of Messiah’s three-year ministry there were 120
in the upper room. This was the
third spiritual generation. Each
generation takes about a year to get up to the point of being able to disciple.
The
most efficient way to do this is Yeshua's Discipling Program, which uses
multiplication. If each person went out as a team of two and discipled 12
people each year, the 6 Billion people in the entire world would hear the Good
News in 13 years! This is more evangelism than has been accomplished using
television for the last 50 years, because that system depends on addition
instead of multiplication. Because
we have abandoned His system of discipling, believers are scarce, 2000 years
later. By recreating the exact
conditions of the New Testament congregation, we can recreate its impact.
This is what YHUH is doing these last days.
Ride His wave. Drop what you
are doing that is not furthering His Kingdom and follow Him.
Anything that is not His discipling program is just spinning your wheels,
compared to where he wants to take you. Drop your own ideas, tainted with churchianity and grab onto
His entire discipling package and start bearing real fruit.
Look for the Fruit, so you
are not fooled by what people say.
"Beware
of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are
ravenous wolves. You
will know what they really are by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thorn
bushes or figs from briars? Good
trees bear good fruit, and bad trees bear bad fruit.
A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good
fruit. 19Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and
thrown into the fire. So
look for the fruits of teachers, to see if they are real.”
Yeshua and His Followers lived this.
Don’t just do lip
service.
"You
don’t enter the kingdom of heaven by saying, "Lord, Lord.'
You enter by doing the will of our Father in heaven. A lot of
people call Yeshua, Lord. Some even
speak in His name, or cast out demons or do miracles in His name. Yeshua
will tell them, "I never knew you; get away from Me, because you are
breaking the Torah!'
You have to do something about this, before it is too
late.
"If
you listen to Yeshua, and do what He says, you are like a wise man who built his
house on the rock: When the rain fell, the floods and hurricanes
came, and beat on that house, it did not fall, because it’s foundation was on
the rock.
"On
the other hand, people who listen, but don’t do what He says, are like a
foolish man who built his house on the sand. When the rain fell, the floods and
hurricanes came, and beat on that house, it crashed like thunder."
The
foundation was laid by Messiah Yeshua. If we build on any other
foundation, we will have a crooked building. The problem is that the
linage of disciples trained by disciples of Yeshua dies out 1700 years ago with
the Nazarenes. Pagan Greek Philosophers developed a Lawless theology that
replaced what Yeshua really taught in the time of Constantine around 300 a.d.
So
today there is no one who is bearing fruit like we read about in Acts.
Therefore there are no true teachers in the world today. How do we reconnect
with the true discipling tradition of Yeshua?
Paul
wrote down Yeshua's discipling course. He is our Apostle. He was
ordained to make the linage of discipling available to us who have lost our way.
Rom
15:15-18, "Nevertheless, brethren, I {Paul} have written more boldly to
you on some points, as reminding you, because of the grace given to me by
God, 16that I might be a minister of Yeshua Messiah to the
Gentiles, ministering the gospel (Yeshua's whole discipling message) of God,
that the offering of the Gentiles might be acceptable, sanctified by the Holy
Spirit. 17Therefore I have reason to glory in Messiah Yeshua in the
things which pertain to God. 18For I will not dare to speak of any of
those things which Messiah has not accomplished through me, in word and deed, to
make the Gentiles obedient--"
Paul
put the content of that course into His letters, in an easy to understand
format, designed to give you the resources to fulfill this command.
Year 1: Romans through 2nd Thessalonians: These teach
disciples how to walk on the path of righteousness and evangelize and
disciple others. After completing
the first year of study and the Spiritual tests of I Timothy 3, the disciple will be sent out as a part of
team, using the gifting that the Spirit of God provides, to start a new
congregation that teaches this course to a new group of students.
Year
2: 1 & 2 Timothy & Hebrews:
These teach young elders how to build up their disciples, answering
questions that come up, when the new elder actually tries this for the first
time. This is also where a
concentrated study of Torah comes in.
The disciple receives 2 years of continuing study and support to insure success.
Year
3: Titus and Philemon: These
teach how to supervise elders and coordinate congregations.
Here
is a simple practical formula for letting Paul disciple you.
1.
Gather a small group to study this course with you. 2
will work (Mt 18:20) but 12 is optimum for the gifts to work together. (Mt 10)
You can read through Romans with people to see if they accept the full
Gospel of Paul. Those that do can be your group for the rest of the
course. If you concern yourself with your own personal growth and use the
others to practice on the things you are learning, you will have less conflict
than if you try to get everyone else to line up perfectly with your view of what
you are learning. Everyone has varying viewpoints because of their
differing backgrounds, way of thinking, rates of growth and giftings.
If
you do not have anyone who wants to join you for this, pray about it and email
us to discuss possible solutions.
2.
Read Paul's letters starting in Romans a few verses at a time. Do this
both in your personal study and as a group. Read a little and then
discuss, or think about, for application as outlined below, so that you do not
pass over nuggets or important instructions.
The
Traditions of the Apostles, by the Apostle James, (I
Cor 11:1-2) instructs us:
a.
Read a little from the letters of your discipler, Paul day and night.
4:1 "My child, remember both
night and day him that speaks to you the Word of God;"
(Paul through his writings, Rom 15:15-17, 1:13) "honor him as you do the Lord, for where the
teaching of the Lord is given, there is the Lord;" (Rom 1:1-5)
b. Get together with disciples daily
for some reading and discussion. Bring something you learned to share with the
group. The disciples of Messiah facilitated this by living together.
In acts 2:46, we read that they met together daily. Rom 1:17 says that
Just shall live from faith to faith. Yeshua required that would be
disciple drop every thing that hinders this effort and make it the focus of
their life. Get the log out of your own eye before trying to get the speck out
someone else's eye.
4:2 "Seek out day by day the favor of the saints, that you may rest in their
words." (Acts 2:46)
3.
Ask what is Paul saying. Start with understanding it in basic terms.
This is not always obvious for everyone. And also does this reading help you
understand some other passage that you had a question about? Do not bring
in other passages to explain the passages you are reading or you will end up
reading into it your own thoughts and fail to learn anything new.
Discuss this
in your mind in your personal study and discuss it with your group when you go
through it with them.
4.
Look for what Paul is instructing you to do and do it. (Rom
2:13, "For not the hearers of the Torah are just in the sight of God, but
the doers of the Torah will be justified.") Many of these
instructions require a group of at least one other person and that is why this cannot be done without a
group. Others can help you to accomplish some of these commands that are
difficult for you.
Paul’s instructions, found in his letters, in the
order that he placed them, is the key to letting Paul disciple us. If we accept his authority, we are going to diligently
look for these daily and do them in the order that he instructs, so that we can
get the full benefit from them that Yeshua intended. Just because you have been operating in the gifts and know a
lot about the Bible does not mean that you have a clue about where Paul wants to
take us. Only if you humble
yourself to his authority as your discipler, will he be able to take you the
whole way. Otherwise you will get so far and get stuck.
Or worse yet, you will get part of the way and think you have arrived and
pass on your stilted knowledge to others. In traditional Christian courses on
the letters of Paul, at least one major element of the Gospel was missing, Torah
Observance. (Rom 8:4) So those
courses were not following Paul’s discipling.
They rested on the wrong foundation.
Examples of instructions to get you started:
a. Rom 1:1-5 says that Paul is our apostle.
Are we going to accept that and let him direct our discipling or are we
going to continue to do our own thing.
b. Rom 1:18 says we have live from Trust to Trust.
1. Each assignment is a
trust test. Are we going to do what
we are instructed at that step of the path and trust YHUH or are we going to
reject that and trust in our own ideas or what we see physically?
2. After we finish a trust
test, are we going to take the next step by trust or are we going to goof off
doing our own thing until the next meeting.
c. Rom 1:20 says that we already know what God wants from us.
Are we going to continue to reject that and fill our minds with something
else so that we forget it, or are we going to drop our own ideas and return to
God and do what He has asked?
d. Rom 1:28-32 gives a list of sins. These prove that we need salvation from YHUH.
But these are also ways that we can reject discipling.
‘Being filled with all unrighteousness’ means spending time inputting
the world with what we watch or listen to, rather than spending that time
imputing what Paul is teaching. Sexual
immorality is a substitute for discipling. Bitterness is focusing on past
problems rather than the present course of instruction. Etc.
5.
Ask the Spirit for personal instructions and application for your particular
needs. The things you learn in Paul's letters are the door to God, if
you do them. Once you open the door you can go in and get clues from the
Spirit that you will need for the next letter in the study. This is not an
academic course, like most schools in our society. It is real power and
contact with God. The purpose is not the door of Paul's letters. The
purpose is God who is behind those doors, each door revealing successive levels
of more intimacy and effectiveness. God has ordained that we need both the
discipling and the Spirit, as well as the Scripture and gifts operating in the
congregation. To ignore any of these destroys the fullness of the package
that God has for us.
6.
Look for spiritual tests in each book. Keep looking into that book until
you pass the spiritual test.
This web site has many materials from a student
on Paul's books that will help point out various issues and ideas in Paul's
books. They include outlines of the books to help you get a handle on them
and point out where the spiritual tests are.
I am available to discuss any
questions that come up by email.

Stories
That Enlighten
Here is what we
believe the Bible says about how to get to heaven.
a. We need to
trust in Messiah Yeshua (Hebrew
for Jesus) as the sacrifice for the
forgiveness of sins that we have committed.
b. Then we need
to walk in His Spirit to live a righteous life
according to the standard of God, the Torah (Instruction or
Law) of Moses.
c. Then we need
to become a disciple in order to demonstrate real
love and bear fruit by sharing this Good News.

“Follow me,” Yeshua (Jesus or
Yahushua) said, “and I will make you fishers of men.”
Mark 1:17.
Are You Ready
to Bear Real Fruit?
Torah discussion among our selves is fine.
It is important to write apologetics for Torah Observance and figure out
what the true Biblical Gospel is. But when are you going to go beyond this and
make the plunge into bearing real fruit, bringing people into the Kingdom of
Elohim?
Attending a congregation won’t do it.
Giving money won’t do it.
Messiah told us to go out to the world, in the power of the Spirit, and
disciple. (Mt 28:18-20, Acts 1:8) He did not tell us to pay someone else to do
it for us.
Congregation On The Web is attempting to recreate the exact conditions of
Yeshua’s discipling program. What basics do we need to learn and do, in order
to share the Gospel, guided by the Spirit, to cause repentance in unbelievers?
Ya gotta keep it simple for the man on the street.
Ya gotta use his vocabulary. Ya gotta limit your information to only that
which will make him into an effective discipler, in the shortest amount of time,
to further the Kingdom of YHUH to the greatest extent. What do we need to train
them in, to get them ready to do the same thing in a year, like Yeshua did? It
is all laid out in Paul’s letters.
But it is not just academic knowledge.
It is spiritual growth from practicing the things taught and getting
feedback from the congregation on effectiveness.
Are
you fearful of taking this step into YHUH’s reality?
Discipling
gives you the opportunity to practice in the congregation, to give you the
confidence you need in public. You
will learn to walk in the Spirit of Power, not the spirit of fear.
Yeshua provides all the resources in Israel, the Scripture,
the Spirit and the congregation. You provide yourself.
Yeshua came to them and said, “All authority in heaven
and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples (followers)
of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of
the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to guard everything I have commanded you. And
surely I will be with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew
28:18-20.
More
Questions?
You
don’t have the gift of evangelism?
No problem.
You will go out as a team of two or three with all the gifts necessary to
evangelize and disciple.
Don’t
think this is for every one?
What is the most
important command, according to Messiah? We
are to love YHUH and love our neighbors, right?
How do we do that in practical terms?
He expressed that in His command for us to disciple.
Do you do all the commands except this one?
Yeshua
said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go
and make disciples of all nations, immersing them in the name of the Father and
of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to guard everything I have
commanded you. And surely I will be with you always.”
Matthew 28:18-20.
Don’t
think you are capable of doing this?
This course is designed
to give you all the resources and support that you will need to accomplish this
goal. Look at the 12 guys that Yeshua
picked. What a bunch of losers.
Are you worse than them, or can you identify? It was Messiah’s resources and support that made them
successful. And you will have the
same support. It is grace, so that
YHUH gets the credit. Bring your
loser self to Him and let Him flow through you and use you.
What it does take is letting go of your old comfortable ideas of how
things should be done and opening up to what the Bible really says about this.
You
have problems of your own that need to get taken care of first?
Don’t
you think that the people we will be ministering to have similar problems?
They need help from people just like you, who got those problems taken
care of in a discipling congregation. What
good would a discipling package be that could not take care of people’s
problems? Yeshua knows our
frailties and He will take care of each of us.
He will heal the broken hearted and set free the prisoners, and unleash
them on the world as His witnesses. What
better witnesses to His power and love can there be?
Not many mighty are called. He
is calling you, one of the weak ones.
You
have already studied much of this stuff?
The
question is, have you ever participated in a full-blown discipling congregation? Studying about it does not make you into a discipler.
Doing it and seeing it with a group of real people with real problems
does.
Have
you been under a discipling system before and got burnt?
Most
discipling systems teach you to follow the human leader.
If you disagree with him, you are out.
This one uses elders to get you into direct contact with the Scripture
and the Spirit. And at this point, your
apostle is going to be Paul's letters rather than any man. Once grounded
there, the authority shifts to the Spirit of Elohim.
The congregation is provided to practice on. Messiah teaches through the gifts of the Spirit and Scripture
discussion of the body. Paul’s
course merely shows you the entrance to YHUH’s personal course for you. He knows what you need spiritually. And here He is free to work directly with you to get you
ready for the ministry that He has in mind for you personally.
You will not be a clone of me. You
will fulfill the gifting that YHUH created for you as an individual.
When you go out to minister, you will follow His instructions, not mine.
We are called to be disciples of Yeshua, not disciples of some man.
As long as you are fulfilling the righteous requirement of elders
specified in I Timothy 3, we will support you.
I
have recently changed my focus from an internet congregation to a local
group. I have encountered technical problems with getting together on the
internet and I wish to get closer to the pattern of the New Testament.
In
the future teams from here may be available to come to you for discipling, but
that is not available yet.
