What to do in Princeville?

There is a shopping center nearby with three restaurants; a lunch cafe with burgers etc., a coffee shop, and Steak House for dinner. There is also the Princeville Hotel with two restaurants, one Asian/American, also serving a fabulous Sunday Brunch on a open terrace overlooking the ocean, and a European/Italian restaurant with elegant dining. The hotel also serves a romantic British afternoon tea in the Living room. There is live entertainment in the evening at the Princeville Hotel living room/bar. There is another restaurant (Italian) in a condo complex in Princeville and a bar/restaurant and formal restaurant (breakfast and dinner) in the Hanalei Bay Resort in Princeville. They also have entertainment, notably a Jazz group on weekends. You can take a pleasant walk (1 mi.) down to Hanalei Bay where you can snorkel, boogeyboard, surf, walk the bay, or just sun bathe on the beach and look at the majestic mountains, waterfalls, and ocean with romantic Bali Hai in the background. You can explore Queens' Bath, a natural lava pool or Secret Beach on the coastline of Princeville. There are two golf courses in Princeville considered tops by Golf Mag. and beautiful walk/jog paths. There are large parks and fields where it's great to fly a kite. We always have trade winds and all utilities are underground. There are many tennis courts and a tennis club nearby. You'll enjoy the Princeville Spa and Health club close by where for a daily or weekly fee you can swim or take water aerobics in the olympic pool, use the weight lift room, take yoga, kickboxing, or aerobic classes, or get a massage. You can also eat in their restaurant ( Mon. night is sushi ). Visit the, 100 yr. old Waioli, "The Green Church" in Hanalei Sunday morning at 10:30 and hear traditional and Hawaiian hymns sung in the Hawaiian language. Swimming - Hanalei Bay - I have friends who swim there every morning. Horseback tours from nearby stables of waterfalls, hills and beaches as well as wagon rides and kayak tours. Helicopter tour of scenic bays, waterfalls, mountains, and dramatic coastline from nearby Princeville airport. Diving and snorkeling almost anywhere! It's like swimming in an aquarium (particularly Tunnels Beach and Kee Beach on the North Shore). Sight see nearby quaint Hanalei town with shops, restaurants, galleries and more. Visit the Limahuli Botanical Gardens on North Shore. Tour the Guava Farm in Kilauea. (20 min. away) Tour the Kilauea Lighthouseand bird sanctuary. See a movie at the newly restored Kilauea Theater. Explore deserted beaches. Kauai is surrounded by beautiful beaches. Camping - You'll need permits which are fairly easy to obtain. Anini Beach - camping, swimming, snorkeling, tide pools, bike riding and windsurfing (rentals at beach). Kalihiwai Beach and river; swim, kayak or canoe, etc.. Kayak the Hanalei River just named one of 10 National U.S. Treasures. Take a kayak tour,catamaran tour, or zodiac tour of the Na Pali Coast. Hike the world famous Kalalau trail along the Na Pali coast. Take a sunset sail on Hanalei Bay or book a fishing trip. Haena St. Park - camping, boogey boarding, body surfing, shell hunting, cave exploration (dry and wet) Kokee St. Park - camping, hike Alakai Swamp, bird watching, jungle exploration and home of Mt. Waialeale the wettest spot on earth. Famous - Waimea Canyon - The Grand Canyon of the Pacific. Ride the "movielocations" tour bus. Enjoy botanical garden tours. On the north shore is Limahuli Gardens, a national tropical botanical garden. Tours require advance reservations. Polihale Beach - camping, hiking, swimming (very dry, hot conditions) miles and miles of white sand beach. Drive the famous Tree Tunnel Walk Old Town Koloa,an original sugar plantation town. Visit Poipu and south side, botanical gardens and beaches to brew pubs. Shop colorful outdoor farmers' markets and buy fresh fish, fruits, flowers and vegetables. Shop and visit Kapaa Square, Coconut Marketplace or Kukui Grove Mall where they hold free demonstrations of native crafts as well as Hula shows. There are always special events going on as well, such as, craft shows, canoe races, Hawaiian celebrations and holidays, Japanese Bon dances, Chinese festivals, Filipino Holidays, etc.! Remember our islands are a very culturally rich and varied place! I think you can tell, if you even did a small part of all there is to do, you would have very little time to work on a tan and probably go home very tired! sooo.....Just sleep on the beach bro!
