Final Days? A Newsroom Diaryby Ian Lind, Star-Bulletin reporter

June 19th update on Mr. Buster. The news is not good. The cancer is inoperable due to its location next to Buster's eye, according to our vet at VCA Kaneohe Animal Hospital. He said it would be "virtually guaranteed" to return immediately because not enough tissue can be removed to eliminate it, especially since it has come back from the initial surgery. Chemicals don't work on this type of cancer. Radiation treatment does, but no facilities in Hawaii will allow use for animals. So we're trying to enjoy Buster's company, keep him as happy as possible, and go forward a step at a time. Sort of like the Star-Bulletin, I guess.
