Rev. Summers has a BA in government from the University of Texas at Austin and earned a Masters of Divinity from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He served churches in Texas, Colorado and California before coming to Hawaii. In 1983, he was a co-founder and National Chairperson of Witness for Peace, a national interfaith nonviolent partnership with Nicaraguan Christians opposing the Contra War.

Elders . . . are persons who are growing in faith, dedication, and good judgment and whose manner of life demonstrates the Christian gospel, both within the church and in the world. As Council members, elders work individually and together with the pastor to strengthen and nurture the faith and life of the congregation. Elders currently serving are:

Deacons . . . are persons of spiritual character, honest repute, warm sympathies, and sound judgment. Deacons minister to those who are in need, to the sick, to the friendless, to any who may be in distress and undertake other ministries (such as fellowship events) in coordination with the Church Council.
