Christ Church was "born" on February 10, 1974, with a celebration of union at which Windward Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), est. 1960, and Christ Presbyterian Church (USA), est. 1964, became Christ Church Uniting Disciples and Presbyterians.The union was not quickly or casually achieved but was the culmination of extended prayer, inquiry, study and consultation of the two neighboring congregations over a two-year period.
Christ Church is a living, working, practical example of what the major denominations have been talking about and planning for the last 60 years!

While our congregation is predominantly Disciple and Presbyterian, those who share in the life and mission of Christ church Uniting represent many different traditions with a wide variety of Christian backgrounds, personal and social viewpoints. Here exists a challenging opportunity to celebrate the rich diversity of the Christian community while working to witness to the one unity of the whole body of Christ.
