Vriess didnt use this weapon at all during the movie. In the scene where he gets off the elevator, where everyone thinks its an alien, there he puts this weapon together. He then hands it to Christie.

It is a single barrel grenade launcher. It comes in 4 different pieces so it could be concealed away from authority figures. This is shown as Vriess gathers the pieces from various parts of his chair.

| The grenade launcher can only fire two shots at a time before having to reload it again.
Reloading single grenade rounds is done through the back of the weapon. Pump action is used to charge the rounds and ready the firing mechanism. Once charged, it is ready for use.

| After being used once, christie gets rid of it. Two possible reasons for this: One, they had no more rounds for this particular weapon or Two, they found no more use for it because of a possible hull breach which could result from the grendae rounds being used. They might have thought of that. |
