This gun is of one of Vriess's. It is a Double Barrel Pump Action Shotgun. Very compact, it is held on Vriess's chair in four different pieces.

Holds approximately 4 shells per load, and then pumping is needed to put the next load into use.

When not in use, the gun is usually in pieces placed in various parts of Vriess's chair. It is there to not look as though as he is carrying a weapon

As shown in the film, the soldier with the Sensor Glove couldn't hold him up for weapons storage because his glove was also reading the chair. The separation of the pieces of the gun is a good way to keep it concealed and out of site from others.

To be loaded, you place the ammunition in the lower part of the barrel, as you do a regular shotgun. An additional pump must be made at the end to make sure it is loaded.

A stock is placed under the barrel for easy pump action. When not in use, it can be folded for your convinience and later be extended for further use.

At times the gun can be jammed. This is because proper pumping is not in play. This causes rounds to be stuck in the chamber where it would normally exit.

This is shown in the sence right after Call is shot. Vriess fires a few rounds and then it is jammed. In panic, as the approaching alien climbs the ladder, the gun is deemed useless.
