In the beginning, God created cats. And the cats were without abundant scratching posts, litter boxes, or servants.

God looked and said, "It is not good that the cats have no scratching posts, litter boxes, or servants."

So God created humans, and the humans filled their houses with furniture and litter boxes, and became servants unto the cats. And God looked and saw that it was good.

Then God did sharpen his claws ...
